sgid
Privacy-based authentication system
Background
The average person could share their national identity card with businesses and organisations as frequently as every month - for visitor registrations, lucky draw sign-ups, in-app identity verification, and more. When an individual shares their identity wholesale by providing a physical or digital identity card to multiple third-parties, they also expose themselves to identity fraud and other security risks.
Solution
sgid helps individuals stay in control of their personal information. The solution employs a zero-knowledge protocol, which means that any user data that passes through our servers is encrypted and never stored. Each business is provided with a unique identifier for every user that authenticates using sgid, which makes it harder to track individuals across businesses.
- Unique identifier is generated for every business
- Individuals have complete control and access to their data
- Individuals have physical ownership of data through zero-knowledge architecture
- Simple drop-in integration for SMEs and businesses
